In response to demand for a low-cost and low-horsepower aerobatic homebuilt, Stolp designed the V-Star, which is basically a biplane version of the parasol winged Starlet. Stressed to 9Gs, the V-Star was originally powered by a 65-hp Continental turning a fixed-pitch propeller; however, the airplane is certified to be outfitted with engines from 60 to 125 hp.
