With its legacy in the kit plane industry, the Zenith CH2000 received FAA certification to become the Alarus. The all-metal airframe and carbine fiber cockpit is aimed at the flight training market, though the two-seater is approved for Day/Night VFR/IFR to satisfy personal transportation needs. In 2005, Alarus was redesigned to include a larger cabin, tougher landing gear and airbags for each seat.
