Tecnam’s new piston twin prototype, the P2012 Traveller, is slated to make its debut at this year’s AERO Friedrichshafen Global General Aviation Expo. The event will be held April 5-8 in Friedrichshafen, Gemany.
The P2012 is an 11-seat, fixed-gear passenger/cargo carrier with a max takeoff weight of 7,937 pounds. It is powered by two 375hp Lycoming TEO engines. According to Tecnam, the P2012 will be capable of running on either mogas or avgas. It can be operated by a single pilot (though there is room for a copilot as well) and will be equipped with the Garmin G1000 NXi.
The P2012 prototype has been undergoing aerial testing since its first flight last July. Though performance numbers have yet to be published, it was designed for cruise speeds of around 180 kts and greater than 600nm range. Tecnam is hoping to have it FAA and EASA certified by the end of 2018.
