Destination Details
- Destination: Mountain Air Country Club
- State/Province: North Carolina
- Website: www.mountainaircc.com
- Airport ID (Check airport ID here): 2NC0
- Activities: Atop the placid Blue Ridge Mountains, just a 35-minute drive from Asheville – "North Carolina's most vibrant and charming city" – resides a community that embodies the soaring spirit of the mountain beneath its feet and the divine beauty of the forests that surround it. Bring your golf clubs, hiking equipment, etc. I hosted a small business event there which was a total success. The day started with golf and ended with dinner at the club. I will always remember having a drink before dinner on the patio overlooking the mountains and valleys with such complete calm that was followed by a great dinner. What a joy to experience!
- Flying Tips: Mountaintop airports are always interesting; it's like landing on an aircraft carrier. The middle of the runway is higher than the end, so you lose site of the "other" end, which makes the landings interesting.
- Best Season: Spring
- What To Bring: Anything for the outdoors
