Yves "Jetman" Rossy, the world's first “jet-powered” human, will make his first public U.S. flights at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. Though the flight schedule is still being worked out, “Jet-Man” will showcase his skills and innovation with several flights during AirVenture. Using a carbon-Kevlar jetwing with four engines, each of which is capable of 48 lbs. of thrust, the Swiss aviator is able to propel himself through the sky at upward of 150 mph, controlled by a simple throttle in his hand. This unique technology has allowed Rossy to achieve some amazing feats, including soaring above Rio de Janeiro, completing aerobatics from the Breitling Orbiter balloon, crossing the English Channel, and flying in formation with various Breitling jets, warbirds and passenger aircraft. EAA assisted Rossy with the paperwork to make the U.S. flights possible. Watch the AirVenture schedule for the latest flight dates and times.

The Vintage Aircraft Association is gearing up for a week to remember at AirVenture this year with a huge variety of rare aircraft anchored by the Round Engine Rodeo airplanes that, according to organizers, is approaching 50 confirmed airplanes and could reach upward of 75. The Vintage area, located just south of Phillips 66 Plaza, will also feature numerous returning Gold and Silver Lindy winners. Some of the exceedingly rare aircraft that have been confirmed are Addison Pemberton's Waco EQC-6—one of only three flying in the world; the only two remaining airworthy Howard 500s, a Stinson trimotor from the Golden Wings Flying Museum in Blaine, Minnesota, and the only Waco 9 flying today.
