Northland Community & Technical College

Founded: 1959; FAA Licenses and Ratings Offered: Airframe and Powerplant; Number of Training Airplanes and Types: 21 aircraft including 2 727s, 2 DC9s, Cessna 150, Cessna 172, Pipers, Hughes Helicopters, Sikorsky and Beech Queen Air; Degree Offered: Diploma and Associate of Applied Science.

Remarks: The Aviation Maintenance Technology program at Northland has been named one of the nation’s best by the U.S. Department of Education. Northland offers an AAS degree that contains additional credits in general education. After completing this degree, students can then transfer to a four-year institution to complete their bachelor’s degree requirements. NCTC currently has transfer agreements with a number of area institutes including the University of North Dakota, St. Cloud State University, Metropolitan State University, Minnesota State University-Mankato and Winona State University. Approved by the Veterans Administration.
