Rocky Mountain College


Founded: 1877; FAA Licenses and Ratings Offered: Private, Instrument, Commercial, Multiengine, CFI, CFII and MEI; Number of Training Airplanes and Types: Piper Archer III, Beech Bonanza and Beech Baron; Degree Offered: Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts.

Remarks: Rocky Mountain College is a small, fully accredited, private liberal arts college. Both federal and institutional federal aid are available. A new college-operated flight school was established at Laurel Airport, just adjacent to Billings, in the fall of 2002. Five new Piper Archer aircraft are the basic flight trainers. The program has close relations with Big Sky Airlines, a regional airline based in Billings, and Corporate Air, an international air freight carrier also based in Billings. Internships are available with these carriers as well as Alaska Airlines, Northwest Airlines and other carriers.
