I can almost sit in the cockpit with the writer and instructor and sense and feel the instruction while hovering over the cone. Thanks for the read (and for inviting me into your heads)

  2. Sounds like an interesting experience I look forward to reading. My first & only rotorwing lesson in a Brantly (I’m a mechanic & fixed wing pilot) ended 10min after engine start when the tail rotor seperated from the helicopter during level-off resulting in a crash my instructor & I were able to walk away from.

  3. 20,000 hours fixed wing, I just finished my Rotorcraft rating in a Helicopter I built. I was probably helped more by my tail dragger time than anything. You don’t steer a tail dragger, you Corral it! Hover ability was there in the first 20 minutes. But about everything I read here was true!
