The reintroduction of both the normally aspirated (182T) and in 2001the turbocharged (T182T) Skylane was eagerly awaited. Despite putting on a little weight with age, the new Skylanes equaled or surpassed their predecessors in every category except useful load. As with all the newest Cessna models, the emphasis was on refinement. The new batch of Skylanes came with a noticeable increase in creature comfort and weather capable instruments and avionics. In 2004, Cessna introduced Skylanes with all glass panels, and in 2005, airbags became standard equipment on all four of the C-182's seats.
