Epic Aircraft Launches An Epic World Tour
The around-the-world journey will see six aircraft touching down in nine countries and 20 cities in 21 days, covering 15,000 nm in 50 flight hours.
Epic Aircraft is in the midst of its inaugural Epic Odyssey World Tour. A 26-person team of Epic owners, Epic Aircraft staff, professional pilots, guests and professional photographers arrived in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on July 6, as the launching-off point of the trip.
The fleet has already visited the Czech Republic, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, England and Italy. The remaining stops include Russia and Alaska, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, before final touchdown at AirVenture Oshkosh.
Epic views the tour as a way to validate the reliability of the high-performance, all-carbon-fiber, single-engine turboprops on an international level, according to the company. Specs include speeds of over 325 knots, 1,650 nm range, 1,100-pound full-fuel payload and 4,000 fpm climb rate. Epic is currently in the process of certifying the E1000.
