Bad Elf Wombat

Pilots in need of avionics database upgrades or those looking to store flight data can do so wirelessly using the Bad Elf Wombat. Built in partnership with Jeppesen, the Bad Elf allows users to download database upgrades to their cell phone and then transfer them to the Wombat using wifi, where they are then transferred to an avionics data card.
The Wombat is compatible with the Garmin NavData card, USB cards and SD or Micro SD cards, and will work for a wide range of avionics systems, including Garmin, Avidyne, Aspen and many more.
In addition to enabling database upgrades, the Wombat also lets users transfer flight and engine logs from the avionics cards to a cell phone. And with two USB ports, the device can serve as a battery charger for electronic devices in-flight.
The Wombat is available for $249.99 and does not require a service fee for Jeppesen subscribers.
