The Mooney Acclaim Ultra
The first production of Mooney’s newly certified aircraft takes flight
We've written a lot recently about the newly certified Mooney Ultras, how they fly, and what they represent for a company whose future was not so long ago in serious doubt. This week, with the first flight of a production M20V Acclaim Ultra, the Ultras took the next big step toward getting into customers' hands and securing Mooney's recovery. The plane flew for an hour and a half with no issues in sight.
The first deliveries of the Acclaim Ultras are scheduled for next month. Mooney says they are in the process of ramping up the factory to full production capacity. In addition to getting the Acclaim to its customers, the company also plans on beginning deliveries of the Ovation Ultra later in the year.
