The Osprey II is a considerably improved enclosed cockpit version of the original Osprey. It boasts one of the most streamlined designs in the homebuilt amphibian class. George Pereira achieves the necessary aquadynamics of the hull in a rather unique way. After the fuselage is complete, urethane foam is attached to the bottom and then sculptured into shape before several layers of fiberglass are added. The wings are an all-wood structure with a single box-spar. The hull or fuselage is also an all-wood structure of marine plywood. The engine is mounted in a pusher fashion atop a steel-tube pylon. The landing gear is a retractable tricycle type.
