Sebring Sport Aviation Expo Kicks Off On Wednesday
The popular light aviation winter show in Central Florida runs January 24-27
For aficionados of the light stuff, 2018 officially kicks off in Sebring, FL, on Wednesday, the first day of the Sebring Sport Aviation Expo. The show, now in its 14th year (yeah, we were surprised too!), has been growing over the years while still maintaining its attendee-friendly atmosphere. Sebring is a show where attendees can spend time with factory reps checking out their dream plane, hang out in the forums for the day or just pass the time hangar flying with friends old and new.
Another big draw is Zenith Aircraft's hands-on kit building workshop, where, if you're curious about what it's like to build a plane, you can find out first hand by drilling a few holes and pulling a few rivets.
There's also a long list of great speakers with talks ranging from informative to inspirational. On the schedule this year is Captain Niloofar Rahmani, the first female fixed-wing pilot in the Afghan Air Force. Plane & Pilot editor Isabel Goyer will lead a panel discussion featuring some of the most prominent experts in the industry looking at what the certification standards inspired by the Light Sport category rules have meant to GA.
Oh yeah, and the Bat Copter will be there, too. And, yes, we're nerdy enough to care! Hope to see you at the show!
