Vision Jet Auction Raises More Than $687,000 For Charity

Sporty’s and Cirrus auctioned off an SF50 Vision Jet during the week of AirVenture

The highly successful auction of a 2017 Vision Jet---a partnership between Sporty's and Cirrus Aircraft---was held over the week of AirVenture. The idea was that if the winning bid came in over the price of the aircraft, the additional funds would go to charity. Sporty's reports that the Vision Jet model on auction cost $1,927,653 and the winning bid came in at $2,615,000---a difference of $687,347.

The money will be split between Sporty's and Cirrus and donated to charities of their choice. Both companies have chosen to focus their funds on STEM education and opportunities for young people in aviation. Organizations that will received funding include The Sporty's Foundation, AirSpace Minnesota and the Duluth Children's Museum.

As for the big prize, the anonymous winner should be getting their new Vision Jet within the next 90 days.
