Last year, a guy in British Columbia, Per Dahlstrom, found a long-neglected kitplane in a barn. He asked just the right guy to restore it. The result is our photo of the week.

The plane is a vintage Zenith CH-701, shown here in another pic (below) taking off with company founder and designer Chris Heintz at the controls. But better yet, it's serial number 1! It was used for some time as a factory demonstrator before it was sold to a customer.

Dalhstrom found it in a barn and got a hold of Steve Kostamo, an experienced Zenith builder who flies a CH 601. Kostamo spent a year getting back into tip-top shape, and as you can see here, the guy does a first-rate job. For video of the little wonder flying, check out Kostamo's little-known YouTube footage of the restored plane flying.
