
As you’ll read elsewhere, the arrivals leading up to Oshkosh AirVenture 2021 exceeded all expectations, and to be honest, expectations were plenty high to begin with. There was a little bit of excitement, but nothing more than bent metal, and there was a lot of noise of the military jet variety. After the longest wait between AirVentures ever, every decibel was like a symphony.
The names of supporters of teenager Ben Templeton printed on the fuselage of the Piper J-3 he flew to all 50 United States. Ben graduated in June and went directly from there to the airport, after which he departed for what would be a 48-State, 8,300-mile odyssey. Ben added a few hours to his logbook in the process to be sure.
