The announcement of the closing of San Jose’s GA Airport has sent shock waves through aviation. Is it an isolated incident, though, and how will things play out?
In mid-August, the Santa Clara (California) County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to close Reid-Hillview Airport in San Jose over what it says are its concerns about the negative health impacts of lead exposure in children who live near the airport because of the lead contained in 100LL avgas.
