When Hurricane Laura blasted into Southern Louisiana last week with 100-plus mph sustained winds, there was a lot of great reporting in the mainstream media about the extensive flooding and devastating wind damage the storm did to the region.
And while there was major damage to Lake Charles Regional, including the utter destruction of its radar installation, the airport that got blasted was Sulphur’s Southland Field, where officials there are still digging out.
A local pilot, Luc Williams, was kind enough to share the images of the devastation that hit Southland. All we can say is that our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this massive storm.
Contributions to help victims of Hurricane Laura, and the victims of the wildfires still ravaging the American West, can be made to the American Red Cross.
