Now, when the tower controller says that you’re cleared to “take it direct to the numbers,” meaning you can round off your pattern, we’ve always assumed they meant the numbers that are on this end of the runway, not the other end, you know, the upside-down ones. But who knows? In our Plane & Pilot Video of the week, we’ve got this video of a guy with top-notch talent—he’s a former USAF fighter jock—completing what he says he was cleared to do—fly a short pattern and land long. And does he ever! Some great flying, for sure.
