UPDATE: Fly-Over Postponed Until Saturday!

It’s the best kind of parade imaginable—as today nearly 100 vintage American warbirds will fly over the National Mall in Washington, D.C. starting at 11:30 Eastern time, September 25, 2020.

The fly-over, organized by the Arsenal Of Democracy, has been long in the making, and for a time it looked like it might never happen. Originally scheduled for last spring (May 8), the fly-over was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. For a time, even its rescheduled date of September 25 was in doubt, but countless hours of planning, the dedication of thousands of volunteers and the generosity of just as many donors helped make it happen.

For some perspective on the enormity of the achievement the flyover commemorates, check out our perspective on it

Aircraft making their way to D.C. include pristine examples from warbird restorers and operators from around the country, from liaison and trainer aircraft to Mustangs, Corsairs and Thunderbolts, to the biggest bombers, including both flying B-29s, Doc and Fifi.
