The GlaStar design combines aluminum sheetmetal, fiberglass composite and welded steel-tube structures into one integrated package. The two-seat design has become a hugely popular, easy to fly airplane, offering a variety of options and configurations. The most impressive of the GlaStar family may be the Sportsman 2+2, the only four-place general aviation aircraft on the market that is a tail-dragger, trike, float ready, wing folding, trailerable, high-utility aircraft, all rolled into a single airframe. The Sportsman 2+2 flies in both a 180 and 200-hp version and combines good performance with an impressive useful load. All GlaStar models are available in a “jump start” version that greatly reduces construction time. The factory also offers a widely acclaimed assisted owner building program.
