Welcome Back!

Top Stories

A new promotion has launched to encourage pilots who have left the market in the past few years to return to being active pilots. Aviation companies are invited to create a promotion that will make it easier and/or less expensive for inactive pilots to become active once again. Promotional ideas should include what your company can do to bring inactive pilots back to the airport and into an airplane; be creative! The program will be announced by Plane & Pilot and partners at EAA AirVenture. To join and help grow the number of active pilots, email Mike McMann at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Virtual Reunion

In honor of their 25th anniversary, Stallion 51 is planning a "virtual" Class of '51 Reunion. All the thousands of pilots who have flown the P-51 Mustang over the years are asked to collect photos and stories to share with Stallion 51 on its website. The year-long commemoration will culminate at Sun 'n Fun 2012. Visit

Midwest LSA Expo

Midwest LSA Expo announced its collaboration with Plane & Pilot as the promotional partner for the sport-aviation expo. "We are completely supportive of the light-sport aircraft industry, and expect to see it flourish in the next few years," stated Mike McMann, publisher of Plane & Pilot. "In fact, I learned to fly in a Cessna 120 during the early '60s, so being involved with today's light-sport aircraft is a way of returning to grassroots flying for me. We're truly excited about promoting this kind of general aviation experience." The Midwest LSA Expo is in Southern Illinois, within an eight-hour drive of 50% of the country's population. The event is the perfect place to compare and fly aircraft being considered for purchase. The Expo offers a glimpse into what the sport aviation lifestyle is all about—using a light aircraft to explore a new destination, camping, enjoying camaraderie of aviators and more. Visit

Plane Manager

Sporty's has launched a new free online service to help aircraft owners manage the details of their airplane. Plane Manager tracks scheduling, maintenance, expenses and usage of general aviation aircraft. Among the features offered in the system are: managing a to-do list; tracking maintenance events; setting reminders for oil changes or other checks; building a robust logbook with detailed journal entries and photos; and keeping track of all the documentation that comes with aircraft ownership. Sporty's Plane Manager is completely web based, so pilots can access their important information anywhere an Internet connection is available—there's no software to install. It's also optimized for mobile devices. "We're proud to offer this powerful program to aircraft owners for free as a way to make owning an airplane even more fun," says Sporty's Vice President John Zimmerman. Visit

Sennheiser Dealer

Sennheiser has named as their 2010 Dealer of The Year for excellent sales, customer support and comprehension of Sennheiser's headsets.
