Pilot: Aviation Vacations

Destination Details

  • Destination: Channel Islands (via Santa Barbara)
  • State/Province: California
  • Website: http://aviationvacations.us/california-wine-a-dine
  • Airport ID (Check airport ID here): SBA
  • Activities: The Channel Islands (a.k.a "America's Galapagos") are a volcanic archipelago 30 miles off the California coast. They're just a hop from major civilization (Santa Barbara) yet it's a place where humans are scarce, and seals are abundant. Kayakers will love their odds of whale and dolphin sightings. A kayaking adventure on the Channel Islands is a part of Aviation Vacations' "California Wine & Dine" aviation tour, departing San Francisco in May 2010.
  • Best Season: Summer
  • What To Bring: Waterproof camera, sunglasses, adventurous spirit
